Assembly Technician (Robotics)

Location: 100% onsite at the Austin, TX facility, United States; up to 0–10% travel may be required for customer site visits or depot field audits.

Salary: $22.60–$31.21 per hour, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Perform vehicle integration, sub-assembly builds, firmware loading, and system calibration for autonomous mobile robots.
• Inspect supplier parts, internally built assemblies, and completed robots against engineering drawings, schematics, and quality criteria.
• Coordinate factory service, overhaul, repair, and refurbishment activities for assets returned from customer sites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and wiring discrepancies, including root-cause analysis.
• Document non-conformance reports, inspection gates, and service histories for complete digital traceability.
• Support shopfloor 5S maintenance, assembly tooling, and peer training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, quality inspection, heavy equipment maintenance, or robotics environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics and use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, inclinometers, and multimeters.
• Experience with wiring repair tools, command-line tools, diagnostic software, and digital quality logging or ERP systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and work standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and in cramped positions around heavy machinery.
• Availability for assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by production and service schedules.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Quality Technology, Automotive, or equivalent work experience.
