Deployment Engineering Manager (Robotics)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; travel to customer sites is required as needed.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the deployment engineering function by recruiting, training, and onboarding technical field engineers.
• Create repeatable deployment playbooks, SOPs, commissioning checklists, and operational metrics.
• Own first-time quality and pre-shipment validation for robotic welding cell deployments.
• Standardize cell configuration and calibration across perception sensors, pneumatic systems, and robotic arms.
• Manage the field Jira lifecycle, triage critical deployment issues, and route tickets to unblock engineers.
• Analyze field failures, lead root-cause analysis, and share improvement priorities with Product Engineering and Fleet Operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in deployment engineering, field engineering, systems integration, industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical environment.
• Experience leading, managing, or developing technical engineers in a field or customer-facing environment.
• Strong knowledge of complex electromechanical systems; industrial robotics, automation, controls, or manufacturing equipment experience is preferred.
• Experience developing SOPs, commissioning procedures, technical processes, operational metrics, and structured root-cause analyses.
• Strong project and operational management skills, including the ability to manage multiple customer deployments and competing priorities.
• Experience with Jira or similar issue-tracking systems and strong cross-functional communication skills.
