Corporate Counsel, Japan

Location: Tokyo, Japan office. Qualified candidates elsewhere in Japan may be considered if willing to relocate to Tokyo.

hirify.global provides grading, authentication, vaulting, and sales services for trading cards, autographs, comics, coins, video games, tickets, and other collectibles through brands including PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder.

What you will do

• Review and prepare commercial agreements, including SaaS and technology services agreements, marketing and sponsorship agreements, influencer agreements, intellectual property licenses, and leases.
• Advise the Japan office on consumer protection, marketing, product initiatives, labor, and employment matters.
• Support the company’s intellectual property portfolio in Japan and maintain policies in compliance with applicable laws.
• Investigate customer complaints and coordinate early resolutions with Customer Service and Customer Resolution Center teams.
• Work with outside counsel to manage litigation matters and maintain settlement and release agreement forms.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Accounting, Finance, and other departments while using legal technology and AI tools to improve contract review, research, workflows, and knowledge management.

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in Japan and good standing, with 3–5 years of attorney experience.
• In-house legal experience is strongly preferred.
• Fluency in Japanese and English; experience with English-speaking clients is strongly preferred.
• Graduation from a top law school.
• Located in Tokyo or willing to relocate to Tokyo.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and multi-project management skills.
