TL;DR
Director & Sr. Corporate Counsel (Technology Transactions/IP): Supporting Cadence’s APJ business through commercial agreements, IP licensing, compliance, export controls, and broader corporate legal matters with an accent on technology transactions, semiconductor IP, and regional risk management. Focus on negotiating EDA and semiconductor-related agreements, implementing local governance programs, and advising cross-functional teams across Asia-Pacific and Japan.

Location: Based in Yokohama, Japan

What you will do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate licensing, sales, services, development, procurement, and other technology transaction agreements for the APJ region.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on employment, corporate, finance, marketing, procurement, and regulatory risk matters.
  • Partner with global trade compliance teams on regional export control matters and maintain local compliance programs.
  • Implement corporate governance and compliance programs, including training, investigations, and policy enforcement.
  • Provide legal support on regional IP enforcement and license compliance.

Requirements

  • LL.B., LL.M., or JD from a reputable law school in a hirify.global APJ country or region.
  • Bar admission in the U.S. or a hirify.global APJ country or region.
  • 10–12 years of post-qualification experience in multinational companies and/or international law firms.
  • Proven experience with technology transactions and/or IP licensing; commercial transaction law firm experience is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in Japanese is required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

  • Semiconductor industry experience.
  • Fluency in another APJ country or region language.
