Electrical Engineering Manager (Drones)

Location: Teal Drones, Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage the electrical engineering team, setting objectives and ensuring accountability.
• Oversee electronic components, systems, and subsystems from concept through production, including embedded systems, battery management, motor control, and RF communications.
• Support advanced circuit and system design to improve drone performance, efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, firmware, and manufacturing teams on system integration and production transition.
• Define and oversee electrical testing, verification, product qualification, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Advise on technology trends, innovation opportunities, product roadmaps, schedules, budgets, and engineering resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience, including 4 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with PCB design, embedded electronics, signal processing, RF design, control systems, and flight-control embedded systems.
• Experience with CAD and PLM tools such as Altium and Arena.
• Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, technical communication, project planning, and cross-functional decision-making skills.
• Must be eligible to access ITAR/EAR-controlled data as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident and must not require sponsorship for export-restricted work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience in the drone, aerospace, or a closely related industry.
• Experience leading new product introduction and manufacturing scale-up.
