Senior Manufacturing Engineer (New Product Introduction)

Location: Highpower Rochester, Rochester, New York, United States. Office and laboratory environment; up to 20% travel required. MKS generally hires candidates who reside in states where it is registered to do business.

Salary: $88,425–$147,375 USD per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes for electromechanical parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies within new product development.
• Transition products from design to manufacturing centers and represent Technical Operations in product development projects.
• Collaborate with design engineering and suppliers on value engineering and design for manufacturing, assembly, and service.
• Define manufacturing methods, processes, tools, assembly fixtures, work instructions, BOMs, routings, and labor standards.
• Coordinate product transfers, support production demand, and review PCBA, cable, metal, and magnetic component designs for manufacturability.
• Train and mentor production personnel and support cross-functional product launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Experience introducing new products from prototype through production.
• Experience solving manufacturing process problems and working collaboratively with engineering, suppliers, and operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and train and mentor production personnel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an office and laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCBA, quality, reliability, manufacturing, cable/harness, or magnetics.
• Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, value stream mapping, waste elimination, and standard work development.
• Automation, robotics integration, PLC and controls, MES, data analytics, or manufacturing dashboards.
• FMEA, corrective and preventive actions, and supplier quality management.
• Project management, production readiness reviews, DFM, and stage-gate processes.
