Manufacturing Engineer – Machine Production (Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing): Scaling robotic RoboCraftsman forming cells and developing manufacturing processes for complex metal structures with an accent on assembly optimization, material flow, tooling, and production documentation. What you will do
- Scale RoboCraftsman robotic forming cells from low-volume builds toward higher-volume manufacturing.
- Convert Engineering BOMs into Manufacturing BOMs and optimize material flow, routing, assembly, and production planning.
- Design jigs, fixtures, tooling, and facility layouts using 2D/3D CAD, simulations, and FEA.
- Create work instructions, assembly procedures, method sheets, routings, and in-process documentation.
- Support ERP/MRP-based work orders, scheduling, material tracking, manufacturing cost estimates, and time standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, facilities, and leadership on DFM, ECOs, ECRs, first article inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of manufacturing or operations engineering experience in a production environment.
- Experience with low- to mid-volume production, process stabilization, scaling operations, and engineering changes.
- Strong experience managing BOM structures, including EBOM-to-MBOM conversion.
- Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or similar tools, including fixture and tooling design and FEA.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment design, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, work instructions, routings, and process documentation.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and the ability to collaborate across engineering and production teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotic or automated manufacturing cells, incremental sheet forming, or similar technologies.
- Background in high-precision, low-volume aerospace or defense production.
- Experience translating design intent into repeatable, scalable manufacturing solutions.
