Tutor (Special Education)

Location: On-site, in-home tutoring in Temecula, California, United States

Salary: $25–$35 per hour; approximately 25 hours per month, with two 1.25-hour sessions per week.

What you will do

• Provide individualized math instruction covering multiplication, division, place value, foundational concepts, word problems, fluency, and problem-solving.
• Deliver structured writing instruction covering sentence construction, grammar, punctuation, paragraph development, and narrative writing.
• Support handwriting and fine motor development with appropriate accommodations and adapted activities.
• Use visual supports, modeling, hands-on activities, scaffolded instruction, repetition, and guided practice.
• Provide sensory breaks and flexible learning opportunities to support focus and regulation.
• Reinforce skills from the student’s IEP, complement existing ABA support, monitor progress, and adjust instruction.

Requirements

• Special education experience, particularly with middle school students, Autism, or IEPs.
• Strong background in foundational and grade-level math instruction.
• Experience supporting writing development, handwriting, and fine motor challenges.
• Ability to adapt instruction and provide accommodations for individual learning needs.
• Patient, structured, encouraging approach with strong lesson-planning and differentiation skills.
• Teaching credential highly preferred.
