Educational Consultant – Per Diem (Education Technology)

Location: Remote in the United States, based in Kansas City, Kansas; candidates must live in or be open to relocating to Kansas City, Kansas. Considerable travel beyond the posted location is required, with up to 80% travel, including overnight stays.

Salary: $35–$65 per hour, depending on the assigned work.

What you will do

• Deliver professional development, product training, and support to teachers, coaches, school leaders, and administrators.
• Coordinate on-site training and adapt workshops within defined parameters to meet participant needs.
• Support effective implementation of Ready and i-Ready to improve classroom learning and equity.
• Provide tailored support with lesson planning, pacing, data analysis, instructional application, and implementation challenges.
• Participate in professional improvement activities, including observation, feedback, and coaching.
• Submit detailed training notes, complete assignments on time, and maintain a professional image with customers and prospects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in teaching, coaching teachers, and providing professional development. Experience teaching at the secondary 6–12 level is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for Grades K–8, or comparable state standards, including content and practice standards.
• Fluency with digital tools and online assessments, and comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and their application to professional development.
• Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent computer and internet skills, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
• Own transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching at the secondary 6–12 level.
• Knowledge of online meeting programs such as Zoom or WebEx.
• Bilingual skills.

• Temporary, part-time, per-diem work scheduled as needed according to customer demand, primarily during normal school hours.
• Work is highly seasonal, with peak periods from August through October and January through February.

• Ability to keep travel points from work-related flights and hotels; mileage reimbursement may be available for applicable travel.
• Compensation is provided for professional development delivery, internal training, travel time, and travel expenses.
• Eligible temporary and per-diem employees may receive medical coverage after 90 days when averaging at least 30 hours weekly, paid holidays when working more than 20 hours weekly, and accrued sick time.
