Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Platform)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; hybrid office setup

Salary: $124,700–$208,850 base salary per year, excluding equity, performance-based incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting the marketplace experience.
• Build reliable, scalable, and maintainable cloud-native systems used by millions of users.
• Write clean, documented, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed systems.
• Improve development processes, tooling, team workflows, platform performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Design teams and mentor interns or new hires.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience through projects or internships.
• Experience with one or more of Ruby, JRuby, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and Linux.
• Experience with Amazon AWS or another cloud computing platform is preferred.
• User-oriented mindset and strong focus on quality.
