Patient Access Manager

Salary: $63,100–$78,875 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Manage operations for admitting, registration, and financial services departments at acute care locations.
• Oversee accurate medical record number assignment, medical necessity and compliance checks, patient instructions, insurance information, physician orders, and customer service.
• Manage Financial Service Representatives and ensure accurate accounting, cash drawer balancing, deposits, patient account posting, and financial logs.
• Develop staffing plans, coordinate schedules, prepare reports, and establish departmental performance goals.
• Analyze and communicate performance data to guide operational and revenue cycle decisions.
• Train, educate, coach, and manage performance interventions for patient access staff while collaborating with internal and external partners.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of management experience in the healthcare industry.
• Patient Access experience with managed care, insurance, or call centers is preferred.
• Microsoft proficiency and the ability to master multiple computer applications.
• Ability to prioritize numerous responsibilities and collaborate with IT on departmental technology needs.
• Advanced use of AI and experience managing teams using AI for process and technology improvements.
• Required CRCR and CHAM certifications; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare Management or Administration is preferred.
