Staff Power Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hawthorne, California; hybrid workplace with office-based work

Salary: $170,000–$226,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the development of vehicle power electronics from clean sheet through flight, including solar power conversion, battery management systems, power distribution, load management, and voltage regulation.
• Develop PCBA requirements, use cases, and system integration approaches.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts for power and analog circuits using Altium Designer.
• Perform power, size, mass, Monte Carlo tolerance, and reliability analyses.
• Lead PCBA design verification, qualification, and system integration testing.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews and provide manufacturing and flight support.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in power electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
• Expertise in solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits.
• Experience designing and laying out complex PCBAs.
• Ability to perform circuit analyses using SPICE and Excel.
• Proficiency with electronic laboratory equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and soldering irons.
