Electrical Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Redwood City, California, United States. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, plus equity-based compensation options.

What you will do

• Develop electronic platforms from architecture through manufacturing.
• Design and validate digital and mixed-signal spacecraft electronics with software, firmware, RF, antenna, mechanical, and systems engineers.
• Create requirements, perform system trades, select components, capture schematics, and design complex electronic assemblies.
• Lead prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and test campaigns.
• Iterate on designs using laboratory, environmental, and on-orbit test results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 0–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with electronics design, hardware bring-up, and testing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under significant time constraints.
• Experience with schematic capture and electronic design CAD tools; Altium Designer is preferred.
• Experience with high-speed board design, signal and power integrity, EMC requirements, EMI mitigation, and PCB simulation or measurement.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers, plus MATLAB or Python for data analysis and programming.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Full-lifecycle hardware development experience in consumer electronics, power electronics, communications, automotive, aerospace, or robotics.
• Experience with SoCs, FPGAs, MCUs, DDR, SSDs, PCIe, SPI, JESD204B, and RF components.
• Experience with Altium Designer, Allegro, OrCAD, LTspice, ADS, Microwave Office, EM simulation, or thermal simulation.
