What you will do

  • Develop detailed CapEx estimates covering materials, specialized labor, industrial equipment, infrastructure, and associated costs.
  • Partner with design engineers during conceptual and design phases to provide cost feedback and support design-to-cost strategies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications to create material take-offs and cost loadings.
  • Assess market rates, historical data, vendor quotes, and procurement strategies for long-lead equipment and specialized materials.
  • Maintain a historical cost, material pricing, and labor-rate database for future project estimates.
  • Present cost proposals, assumptions, risk analyses, and variance insights to project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field; equivalent industrial experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years of direct experience in CapEx or construction estimating.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, labor rates, and bottom-up, parametric, or analogous cost-estimation methods.
  • Experience with cost-risk analysis and cost variance analysis.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale petrochemical, technology infrastructure, or complex manufacturing projects.
  • Understanding of material processing equipment, manufacturing methodologies, and industrial engineering workflows.
