Mechanical Technician II (Aerospace)

Salary: $33.00–$38.00 per hour base pay

What you will do

• Independently align, commission, maintain, rebuild, and troubleshoot pumps and motors using precision measurement and laser alignment tools.
• Maintain and improve drive systems, hydraulic circuits, pneumatic systems, chillers, cooling equipment, and gas and utility systems.
• Lead preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, reliability audits, equipment optimization, commissioning, startups, and modification reviews.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical equipment failures and present corrective action plans.
• Mentor Mechanical Technician I personnel through hands-on coaching and knowledge transfer.
• Maintain CMMS records, interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs, and ensure compliance with safety and permit systems.

Requirements

• Trade certificate, diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Advanced experience with pumps, motors, pneumatics, chillers, hydraulics, precision measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical failures independently and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
• Knowledge of LOTO/LOTO-Plus, confined-space entry, permit-to-work systems, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Must be a U.S. Person eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, or other predictive maintenance technologies.
• Experience with SAP PM, Maximo, or similar CMMS platforms.
• Hydraulic systems or chiller/refrigeration certification.
• Intermediate electrical troubleshooting and experience in oil and gas, chemical, water/wastewater, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
