Production Technician & Equipment Operator (Aerospace)

Location: Burlingame, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $30–$50 per hour, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Set up tooling, fixtures, instrumentation, vibration tables, thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, and deployment fixtures for repeatable spacecraft production tests.
• Assemble and integrate satellite components and subsystems, including electrical harnesses and mechanical structures.
• Perform PCB handling, IPC-A-610 inspections, continuity testing, functional testing, and production data documentation.
• Complete spacecraft-level assembly tasks such as cable routing, thermal insulation, soldering, bonding, torque-controlled fastening, anomaly detection, and repair.
• Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and product engineering teams.
• Improve assembly and integration instructions while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and ESD-safe practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical or electrical assembly experience, preferably in space, aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, or electronics.
• 2+ years of experience operating production equipment, environmental chambers, deployment fixtures, lifting equipment, or vibration, shock, and thermal cycling systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, multimeters, ohmmeters, DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and PCB test equipment.
• Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions, with basic GD&T knowledge.
• Strong teamwork, communication, organization, attention to detail, and comfort working with sensitive electronics and small mechanical parts.

Nice to have

• Current or past IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
