Architect, Agentic Interfaces (AI)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of the agent-facing interface, semantic layer, and related controls.
• Define interface contracts, including exposure granularity, versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation, and private capabilities.
• Resolve competing technical approaches across teams and maintain architectural coherence during delivery.
• Define evaluation standards for agent-facing capabilities and production AI systems.
• Establish security and governance for agent access, including identity, entitlements, customer isolation, and safe defaults.
• Align delivery sequencing with product management, platform engineering, and AI teams, and represent the architecture to senior stakeholders, customers, and partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a lead architect on a platform used by other teams or external developers.
• Proven experience owning and delivering production platform architecture at enterprise scale.
• Deep experience in API and interface design, versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems that call tools or functions.
• Experience with semantic modelling, knowledge graphs, or ontologies over an existing product or data estate.
• Experience designing security and multi-tenancy, including identity, entitlements, and customer isolation.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise application platforms and their extension or integration models.
• Published or public technical work, such as standards contributions, open-source projects, or conference talks.
• Background in asset-intensive industries.
