Global Head of Employment Relations & Compliance

Location: Based in Norway, France, Germany, or the United Kingdom, preferably within commuting distance of an hirify.global office; relocation to one of these locations is required for applicants outside the listed locations. Offices include Oslo, Stavanger, Nedre Vats, Lyon, Ulm, Berlin, Hamburg, and Nottingham.

What you will do

• Own the global employment relations and employment compliance agenda across 21 countries and 25 U.S. states.
• Advise on and lead complex employee relations cases, including performance, conduct, grievances, investigations, terminations, protected leave, and accommodations.
• Monitor employment legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical policies, processes, contracts, and manager guidance.
• Develop and govern global employment policies, standards, playbooks, compliance frameworks, risk controls, and escalation routes.
• Support restructurings, reductions in force, workforce transitions, acquisitions, integrations, consultations, and other business transformations.
• Partner with Legal, HR, Payroll, Finance, senior leaders, and external employment counsel on high-risk matters, investigations, claims, reporting, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive senior-level experience in employment relations, employment law, HR compliance, or a comparable role within a complex multinational organization.
• Hands-on experience advising on employment matters across multiple countries and legal systems; experience across North America, EMEA, and APAC is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations, including investigations, terminations, restructurings, consultation processes, and employment risk.
• Experience building global governance, compliance frameworks, case-management standards, risk controls, and employment-law change processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to advise executives, HR leaders, managers, and cross-functional partners in high-stakes situations.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required. A law degree and relevant legal qualification are strongly preferred; equivalent multi-country experience may be accepted.
