Avionics Solar Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $30.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Fabricate, assemble, and test solar array hardware.
• Perform manual soldering of solar cell strings, tab ribbons, cell interconnects, bypass diodes, and circuit connections according to IPC workmanship standards.
• Handle ultra-thin solar cells, glass cover sheets, and silicon substrates while preventing micro-cracking and contamination.
• Inspect solder joints, identify non-conformances, and complete approved rework and repairs.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols, ESD controls, and FOD prevention during assembly.
• Document production activities and contribute to assembly and integration improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and use production software and digital work instructions.
• Experience with crimping, wire stripping, continuity testing, torque wrenches, and hand tools.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and work extended hours or weekends as needed.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

• Experience in a fast-paced production development environment.
• Experience with in-space electromechanical assemblies.
• Aerospace industry or new-project ramp-up experience.
