Sr Specialist, VSEE Set Leader & Issue Manager (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel required

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

What you will do

• Lead triage of vehicle electrical hardware and software defects from internal and customer-facing sources through ownership and resolution.
• Develop and execute defect-management processes, metrics, tools, and reporting for issue arrivals, severity, trends, and resolution status.
• Lead first-level triage with Scout engineers, external engineering partners, and suppliers to identify software module owners.
• Coordinate cross-domain system issues that lack a single owner and establish clear next steps with internal and external development teams.
• Participate in software quality-gate meetings and lead issue-resolution roadmaps across engineering teams.
• Identify and implement process and tool improvements that reduce software issue resolution times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, IT Systems, or Engineering Technology; Electrical, Controls, or Automotive Engineering is preferred.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with defect management, firmware environments, software development lifecycles, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with software issue and configuration-management tools such as Jira, Git, or IBM Rational, plus project-management tools.
• Ability to work under intense time pressure, drive problems to resolution, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts in complex cross-functional organizations.
• Ability to work from the Novi office 4–5 days per week and attend in-person meetings and events.
