Facilities Technician

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; on-site facilities work

Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually; estimated on-target earnings are also $45,000–$55,000.

What you will do

• Evaluate facility issues and determine when subcontractor support is required.
• Schedule, escort, and monitor contractors and vendors to ensure work meets specifications.
• Respond to facility requests, including requests received outside regular hours.
• Perform general maintenance, including lightbulb replacement and minor plumbing repairs.
• Support office relocations and install or maintain fixtures, furniture, monitors, whiteboards, shelves, and related equipment.
• Review vendor invoices and maintain preventative maintenance routines that support facility safety and efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, security, and generator systems.
• Basic experience using building management software for HVAC and lighting systems.
• Ability to research and select vendors based on reputation, cost, and turnaround time.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and move or lift up to 50 pounds.
