TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and testing spacecraft avionics, flight computers, electrical power systems, and DC-DC power converters with an accent on harsh-environment electronics, system architecture, and verification. Focus on defining requirements, performing hardware bring-up and production testing, and solving coupled spacecraft architecture and reliability challenges.

Location: Los Angeles, United States; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is a fast-growing aerospace startup that manufactures satellite buses at scale using software, vertical integration, and manufacturing-oriented hardware.

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters for harsh spacecraft environments.
  • Develop electrical power system and subsystem requirements and perform architecture trade studies.
  • Define and execute electrical power system verification testing and analysis.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and production engineers to create new power electronics hardware.
  • Lead electrical design activities including component selection, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, documentation, manufacturing planning, and production testing.
  • Provide technical leadership, manage program risks and changes, and drive new technology introduction.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
  • 3+ years of spacecraft electronics experience across multiple spacecraft programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Extensive spacecraft design, launch, and operations experience across the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience with integrated hardware/software verification and testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
