Engineering Leader (DevOps/SRE)

Location: Hybrid, remote in North Carolina

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end release pipeline, including build systems, artifact management, versioning, release gating, cadence, branching strategies, and code freezes.
• Architect and operate CI/CD pipelines and developer toolchains for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Embed security into the software development lifecycle through SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
• Define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets; establish incident response and post-mortem practices.
• Drive platform observability through logging, metrics, and distributed tracing, while leading capacity planning and infrastructure scaling.
• Build, mentor, and grow Release Engineering, SecDevOps, and SRE teams; communicate roadmaps and risks to senior leadership and partner with product, QA, and security.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or SRE, including 5+ years managing engineering teams.
• Deep experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Tekton.
• Fluency with infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or equivalent tools.
• Production expertise with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Practical DevSecOps experience delivering security tooling and SRE experience with SLO/SLI design, on-call frameworks, and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to executive and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with storage, distributed systems, or infrastructure software.
• Familiarity with HPC, AI/ML infrastructure, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience scaling DevOps in high-growth, globally distributed environments.
• Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP compliance requirements.
