Manager, Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Base salary: $121,000–$178,000 USD annually, plus a discretionary annual variable target incentive.

What you will do

• Lead the evolution of Platform Engineering capabilities for faster, more secure, and more reliable software delivery.
• Modernize build systems, developer tooling, CI/CD, release automation, and Software Factory capabilities.
• Champion cloud-native architectures, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate and adopt AI-driven capabilities, including AI-powered engineering tools and agentic coding assistants.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop a high-performing Platform Engineering team.
• Own strategic platform initiatives, manage risks and technical debt, and define success through adoption, reliability, productivity, and delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience with several of cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD, build systems, developer tooling, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives from planning through delivery.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms or developer platforms.
• Experience modernizing build systems, software factories, or enterprise engineering platforms.
• Experience with DevSecOps and software supply chain security.
• Experience with AI-powered engineering tools and agentic coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Tabnine.
