Senior Software Engineer - Python/Agentic AI (Fintech)

Location: Pleasanton, United States; candidates within a reasonable commute to an office must work onsite at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $170,000–$213,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, deliver, and optimize cloud-based backend services and product features.
• Build and maintain web applications, SaaS products, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Implement development practices covering integration, performance, security, maintainability, automation, and testing.
• Support production deployments, critical maintenance, releases, and occasional off-hours on-call activities.
• Identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, collaborate with peers and leadership, and drive technical change.
• Mentor junior developers and promote a quality-first engineering culture.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science with 5 years of experience, or MS in Computer Science with 3 years of experience.
• Professional software development experience with general-purpose languages including Python, C#, Java, .NET, or .NET Core.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building web applications, SaaS products, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with an AI-first development approach, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, complex system design, and architecture.
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including stored procedures, data models, and transactional flows.
• Experience supporting production deployments and handling on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, open-source tools, and public cloud architectures such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience designing and scaling high-performance systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, API gateways, identity management, authentication, messaging platforms, workflow orchestration, job scheduling, or search.
• Frontend experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, or JavaScript frameworks.
• FinTech or financial services domain experience and prior Scrum or Agile experience.
