TL;DR
Sr. Specialist – Vehicle Dev. Tooling & Automation (Automotive): Building end-to-end toolchains, CI/CD systems, ECU flashing workflows, HIL/SIL test frameworks, and vehicle data pipelines with an accent on embedded software integration, vehicle networks, and automated testing. Focus on designing reliable build-to-test workflows, debugging firmware-to-hardware issues, and enabling root-cause analysis across large vehicle telemetry datasets.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel required.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Architect and implement end-to-end vehicle development toolchains from code commit and build through ECU flashing, HIL testing, data logging, and analysis.
  • Build developer tools, CI/CD systems, dashboards, and reproducible development environments for embedded and distributed vehicle software.
  • Automate ECU flashing, OTA package generation, HIL integration, and regression testing across benches, dynos, and fleet vehicles.
  • Develop tooling for CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet traffic monitoring, simulation, and signal-level validation.
  • Create telemetry, log-parsing, monitoring, and alerting pipelines to support root-cause analysis across large datasets.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, validation, MST, and supplier teams to debug issues across firmware, middleware, and hardware.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience in embedded systems, bare-metal or RTOS development, and Linux environments.
  • Deep knowledge of vehicle E/E architecture, ECU software stacks, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, and ISO 14229.
  • Experience with CI/CD and development tools including GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM platforms.
  • Hands-on familiarity with CANalyzer, CANoe, A2B, LVDS, vehicle network tools, and development of fleet-scale data systems.
  • Must work from the Charlotte headquarters office 4–5 days per week and be able to travel for company events.
