Engineer Sr. – Software Systems (Embedded)

What you will do

• Develop, review, approve, and release software requirements and architecture specifications for vehicle and embedded software systems.
• Decompose customer, vehicle, system, safety, and regulatory needs into software requirements, interfaces, architectural constraints, and verification criteria.
• Model software components, data and control flows, operating modes, network communication, resource constraints, diagnostics, and degraded-operation behavior.
• Conduct architecture trade studies covering performance, reliability, safety, cybersecurity, maintainability, complexity, reuse, and lifecycle cost.
• Define interfaces between vehicle controllers, displays, sensors, actuators, gateways, control applications, and external systems.
• Collaborate with systems, controls, hardware, safety, cybersecurity, test, manufacturing, service, and supplier teams throughout product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in software systems engineering, embedded software, vehicle systems, software architecture, requirements engineering, or functional safety.
• Experience developing and reviewing software requirements and software architecture within a structured product-development lifecycle.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information through documentation, presentations, and technical discussions.
• Applicants may need to be U.S. Persons for positions involving controlled goods or technologies under ITAR or EAR.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and five or more years of vehicle or embedded-systems requirements experience.
• Experience with MagicDraw or Cameo, IBM DOORS, Medini Analyze, or other MBSE and lifecycle-management tools.
• Knowledge of UML, SysML, ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882, IEC 61508, ISO/SAE 21434, CMMI, or Automotive SPICE.
• Experience with embedded C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Python, CAN, J1939, Ethernet, CANalyzer, CANoe, PEAK PCAN, or Kvaser.
