TL;DR
Sr. Manager, Software Integration and Test (Aerospace): Leading software integration and testing for space vehicle programs, including software-in-the-loop infrastructure, modeling and simulation, and test-bed validation with an accent on team leadership, embedded systems, and CI/CD automation. Focus on coordinating software, hardware-in-the-loop, vehicle test, flight software, and systems engineering activities while delivering reliable integrated systems.

Location: Kent, Washington or Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Travel expected up to 10% of the time. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees under ITAR requirements.

Base pay range for Washington applicants: $197,004–$275,805.60 annually. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a software integration and test team.
  • Oversee software-in-the-loop infrastructure, modeling and simulation, and test-bed validation.
  • Develop and execute software-in-the-loop test and validation plans.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and delivery of integration and test objectives.
  • Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop, vehicle test, flight software, and systems engineering teams.
  • Define and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment, while reporting progress and risks to program leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software development, integration, or testing experience in the aerospace industry.
  • 2+ years of people management experience, including team building, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems, embedded control systems, APIs, interfaces, device drivers, and communication protocols including UDP/TCP, I2C, and UART.
  • Understanding of software development life cycles, testing methodologies, version control, and strong written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree and experience with large-scale engineering systems or space vehicle software simulation integration.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD tools, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, SVN, or DOORS Next Generation.
  • Experience with hardware emulation tools such as Simics and debugging at the software-hardware interface.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, GNC systems, 6DOF dynamics, electrical and electronic engineering, or IP networking.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
