Engineer – Sr Controls (Embedded Controls)

Salary: $79,300–$126,900 per year across U.S. locations

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test embedded vehicle control subsystem software.
• Develop advanced control strategies for drivetrains, chassis and body systems, suspensions, material handling systems, and auxiliary systems.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, ADAMS, AMESim, and hardware-in-the-loop simulators for modeling and verification.
• Write maintainable object-oriented C++ and embedded C/C++ software for vehicle platforms, network messaging, and connected inputs and outputs.
• Perform research, development, verification, validation, testing, and production implementation across simulation and real-world platforms.
• Review software, support project and component development, and provide guidance to entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Three or more years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with control systems, sensors, actuators, and embedded software development.
• Ability to work with C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, and vehicle control platforms.
• Experience with automotive or heavy-duty on-road/off-road vehicles and digital data buses such as Ethernet or CAN.
• Ability to evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, cost, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with C#, Python, high-voltage vehicle systems, or export power.
• Experience with advanced vehicle controls and production implementation.
