TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Scaling production of advanced ion deposition systems through assembly, integration, final testing, and process development with an accent on electromechanical troubleshooting, manufacturing readiness, and root-cause analysis. Focus on establishing scalable processes, resolving complex vacuum, gas delivery, cryogenic, controls, and system integration challenges, and improving production quality and reliability.

Location: Onsite in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $94,000–$120,000 per year, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

  • Lead manufacturing scale-up for an advanced ion deposition system across assembly, integration, final testing, and early production builds.
  • Establish scalable manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, and production infrastructure for multiple product configurations.
  • Work directly with assembly technicians to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, vacuum, gas delivery, cryogenic, and system integration issues.
  • Lead root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, failure analysis, and corrective action methods.
  • Develop assembly instructions, process controls, training materials, validations, qualifications, engineering changes, deviations, and rework procedures.
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Quality, Field Service, Supply Chain, Operations, and Production to improve manufacturability and accelerate the production ramp.

Requirements

  • Onsite work in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, sustaining engineering, or production of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related hardware issues in a production environment.
  • Experience with assembly, integration, final testing, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, GD&T requirements, and 3D CAD models.
  • Experience with structured problem solving, corrective and preventive actions, engineering changes, documentation control, and ERP systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, thin-film processing, ion beam systems, industrial automation, aerospace, medical devices, or other highly engineered products.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing and production scale-up.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience applying DFMA principles and using SolidWorks or SAP.
