Senior Mechanical Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $121,050.08–$181,575.12 annual base salary, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems and assemblies for advanced semiconductor equipment.
• Own engineering execution from concept through validation and release.
• Translate system and process requirements into robust mechanical design requirements and hardware solutions.
• Perform tolerance, thermal, and structural analyses using simulation and first-principles calculations.
• Plan and execute prototype builds, structured testing, and experimental characterization.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and supplier teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering; an MS is preferred.
• 8–12+ years of experience designing complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience owning subsystems or major components in a product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD and PLM tools, such as Creo and Windchill or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanism design, tolerance analysis, engineering fundamentals, FEA, and analytical design validation.
• Ability to independently drive design work, communicate technical risks, and collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor capital equipment or vacuum system design experience.
• Experience with precision motion, robotics, wafer handling, or automation systems.
• New product development experience in fast-iteration environments.
• Familiarity with SEMI standards, cleanroom design, and high-reliability systems.
