Описание вакансии

Текст:

TL;DR
Distinguished Engineer, Reactor Systems (Nuclear): Establishing the technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy for fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor systems with an accent on safety, system integration, qualification, and commercialization. Focus on resolving complex cross-disciplinary design challenges, evaluating thermal-fluid and structural analyses, guiding verification and testing, and making high-impact technical decisions for first-of-a-kind reactor systems.

Location: Remote in the United States or onsite at an existing hirify.global U.S. location. Remote travel is expected at approximately 20%; onsite travel may be approximately 10%. The role may involve work at manufacturing, assembly, testing, supplier, fabrication, construction, and installation sites.

Company

hirify.global develops fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature nuclear reactor technology to support the transition to clean energy.

What you will do

  • Set the long-term technical vision, reactor system architecture, engineering strategy, and design philosophy.
  • Provide technical authority across reactor system design, integration, analysis, testing, qualification, and deployment.
  • Lead resolution of complex issues involving reactor vessels, internals, auxiliary systems, nuclear design, thermal hydraulics, safety analysis, instrumentation and controls, manufacturing, licensing, and operations.
  • Guide system requirements, design bases, interface definitions, verification plans, technical documentation, and design integration reviews.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs involving safety, manufacturing, operability, licensing, economics, and commercialization.
  • Mentor engineers and represent Reactor Systems in technical reviews, audits, readiness reviews, and executive-level briefings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 20+ years of progressively increasing technical leadership experience in nuclear reactor design, reactor systems engineering, advanced technology development, complex mechanical systems, high-temperature systems, or similarly regulated engineering environments.
  • Experience leading major technical scopes across complex engineering programs, preferably in nuclear, energy, chemical, oil and gas, or power generation systems.
  • Experience with configuration management, design control, or product lifecycle management under ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or an equivalent quality program.
  • Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, ASTM, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and related engineering standards; experience with FEA, CFD, thermal-fluid, structural, and system-level analysis.
  • Work authorization may be subject to U.S. Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 export-control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Recognized technical authority with contributions through publications, patents, standards development, invited presentations, or equivalent achievements.
  • Experience with advanced reactor technology, molten salt systems, high-temperature design, reactor internals, and safety-significant mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AVEVA.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with competitive compensation packages.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees and dependents.
  • Paid vacation.
  • 401(k), pre-tax health insurance, dependent care, and commuter benefits through an FSA.
  • Work in office, manufacturing, testing, and construction environments as required, with occasional schedule flexibility and extended hours for critical milestones.
