Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop lithium-ion battery packs that meet spacecraft mission requirements.
  • Own the battery product lifecycle from concept through full-rate production.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.
  • Generate electrical, structural, and thermal models.
  • Contribute to spacecraft development in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in battery development.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery qualification and safety standards, including UN 38.3.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics.
  • Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale, and resolve concerns.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience qualifying spacecraft products.
  • Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Simcenter, ANSYS, or Altium Designer.
  • Experience designing harsh-environment power electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
