Avionics Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office

Salary: $105,000–$135,000 per year base salary, excluding benefits

What you will do

• Design and develop avionics systems, electrical circuits, and components for satellite platforms.
• Develop electrical architectures and schematics covering power distribution, communication interfaces, and control systems.
• Design PCBs with attention to component placement, signal routing, and manufacturability.
• Integrate avionics subsystems with mechanical, systems, and software engineering teams.
• Select electronic components including sensors, transmitters, receivers, and processors.
• Define and execute tests, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical guidance during development and integration.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant avionics or electrical engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or satellites.
• Experience designing avionics systems, electrical circuits, subsystems, and PCBs using tools such as Altium and LTSpice.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Ability to debug complex problems with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers and collaborate across disciplines.
