Avionics Lead (Aerospace): Owning the architecture, development, and delivery of flight-critical spacecraft avionics systems with an accent on power distribution, communications, control systems, and custom PCB development. Focus on designing flight-ready hardware, solving system-level power, thermal, EMI, and mechanical trade-offs, and leading scalable production and cross-functional integration.
Location: Los Angeles, United States; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office
Salary: $156K–$214.5K annual base salary

is a fast-growing aerospace startup that manufactures satellite buses at scale through software, vertical integration, and manufacturing-focused hardware.
What you will do
- Own the architecture, development, and delivery of spacecraft avionics systems covering power distribution, communications, and control.
- Lead the design, layout, bring-up, validation, integration, and testing of custom PCBs for flight hardware.
- Conduct system-level trade studies across performance, power, thermal, EMI, and mechanical constraints.
- Deliver flight-ready hardware and support manufacturing, production, and spacecraft system integration.
- Lead rapid prototyping, troubleshooting, and board- and system-level issue resolution.
- Hire, mentor, and lead electrical engineers while improving avionics reliability, manufacturability, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing and delivering electrical systems for aerospace or other high-reliability applications.
- Strong experience with PCB design, schematic capture, layout, bring-up, component selection, circuit analysis, and simulation.
- Experience with Altium or similar PCB design tools and board manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience debugging electronics at board and system level.
- Technical leadership experience owning subsystems or mentoring engineers, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience designing for space or other harsh environments, including thermal, EMI, and radiation considerations.
- Background in avionics subsystems such as power systems, communications, sensors, or control electronics.
- Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment.
