Avionics Lead (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own the architecture, development, and delivery of spacecraft avionics systems covering power distribution, communications, and control.
• Lead the design, layout, bring-up, validation, integration, and testing of custom PCBs for flight hardware.
• Conduct system-level trade studies across performance, power, thermal, EMI, and mechanical constraints.
• Deliver flight-ready hardware and support manufacturing, production, and spacecraft system integration.
• Lead rapid prototyping, troubleshooting, and board- and system-level issue resolution.
• Hire, mentor, and lead electrical engineers while improving avionics reliability, manufacturability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and delivering electrical systems for aerospace or other high-reliability applications.
• Strong experience with PCB design, schematic capture, layout, bring-up, component selection, circuit analysis, and simulation.
• Experience with Altium or similar PCB design tools and board manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience debugging electronics at board and system level.
• Technical leadership experience owning subsystems or mentoring engineers, with strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience designing for space or other harsh environments, including thermal, EMI, and radiation considerations.
• Background in avionics subsystems such as power systems, communications, sensors, or control electronics.
• Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment.
