Mechanical Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Must be based in Huntington Beach, CA (On-site)

Salary: $105,000 – $180,000

What you will do

• Design and develop avionics mounting architectures, including shock, vibration, and structural load paths.
• Own electronics packaging design with a focus on EMI/EMC mitigation, grounding, shielding, and thermal integration.
• Release wire harnesses including routing, connector selection, and shielding termination.
• Develop and execute environmental qualification testing such as vibration, shock, and thermal cycling.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to manage packaging constraints and hardware bring-up.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (ITAR/EAR compliance required).
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, avionics integration, or electronics packaging.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Practical experience with EMI/EMC mitigation and wire harness routing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal).
• Knowledge of thermal management best practices for electronics.
• Familiarity with lightweight materials, additive manufacturing, or composites.
• Experience with aerospace or defense standards.
