Director, Development (Green Hydrogen)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Houston, Texas office, United States

Base salary: $226,000–$266,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Originate and develop large-scale green hydrogen projects across the United States from concept through Final Investment Decision.
• Lead site acquisition, customer and offtake agreements, renewable power procurement, grid interconnection, permitting, financing, and commercial contracting.
• Build relationships with industrial customers, offtake counterparties, landowners, utilities, and project partners.
• Lead multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants to deliver project milestones on schedule and within budget.
• Develop economic models and pro formas, evaluate risks, and provide recommendations at investment decision points.
• Evaluate project design pathways and e-Fuel production technologies while supporting customer partnership structures and business strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of project development experience in energy, renewable energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
• Demonstrated experience advancing projects through development to financial close or Final Investment Decision.
• Strong commercial acumen, including customer relationship development, commercial negotiations, and project origination.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and external providers across engineering, legal, environmental, permitting, commercial, and finance functions.
• Strong understanding of project economics and financial modeling.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in green hydrogen, industrial gases, e-Fuels, or related clean energy industries.
• Subject matter expertise in ammonia, methanol, e-SAF, or other emerging decarbonization pathways.
