Senior Software Simulation Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain real-time simulation environments for flight control, avionics, and aircraft systems.
• Build and support SIL and HIL test environments for flight software verification.
• Create MATLAB/Simulink models and generate executable real-time code using Model-Based Design workflows.
• Integrate aircraft dynamics, controls, sensors, actuators, avionics models, embedded software, and hardware interfaces.
• Optimize simulation timing, performance, fidelity, and reliability while creating automated validation tools.
• Collaborate with GNC, flight software, avionics, systems, and test teams on debugging, requirements traceability, and verification of flight-critical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, computer, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in simulation, controls, embedded software, or real-time test environments.
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based Design, including Simulink Coder or Embedded Coder.
• Understanding of aircraft dynamics, control systems, avionics, or embedded aerospace systems, with experience in SIL, HIL, or real-time simulation.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages, plus strong debugging skills across software, models, and hardware interfaces.
• Must satisfy U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience with Speedgoat, dSPACE, NI VeriStand, OPAL-RT, or similar real-time platforms.
• Experience with flight controls, GNC, avionics, autonomy, aircraft, UAV, spacecraft, or defense systems.
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, or serial interfaces.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git, software configuration management, or aerospace standards such as DO-178C, DO-331, or DO-254.
