Salary: $160,000 β $200,000 annually
What you will do
- Design and implement motor control systems for electrically actuated valves and pumps.
- Develop automated sequences for propellant fill, drain, vent, and conditioning operations.
- Architect closed-loop control systems for fluid parameters including pressure, temperature, and flow rate.
- Develop embedded firmware and real-time control software for fluid system controllers.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate control strategies.
- Define fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) logic to ensure safe operations.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering or automation for hardware systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for real-time control applications.
- Experience with motor control (BLDC, stepper, or brushed) and feedback control loops (PID, Kalman filtering).
- Hands-on experience integrating sensors, actuators, and control electronics.
- ITAR compliance: Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required export authorizations.
Nice to have
- Experience with PLC/PAC programming or custom sequencing engines.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or LabVIEW for modeling.
- Familiarity with aerospace communication protocols (CAN, RS-422, EtherCAT, SpaceWire).
- Experience with cryogenic fluid handling or launch vehicle fluid systems.
