Senior Flight Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles, CA or Atlanta, GA; short-term off-site testing at austere sites may require assignments of up to one to two months

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, and execute ground and flight test campaigns for advanced high-speed aircraft systems.
• Perform systems integration, mission planning, aircraft configuration control, and troubleshooting across multiple systems under test.
• Develop ground and flight test plans, procedures, test cards, briefings, and debriefings with cross-functional engineering, certification, operations, and flight teams.
• Conduct and direct tests as part of the flight crew in the ground control station.
• Analyze test data, telemetry, and results, then prepare technical reports.
• Support testing at austere off-site locations and travel up to 50%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject.
• 5+ years of aerospace or aviation experience focused on experimental flight testing.
• At least one year of experience as a Test Conductor or Test Director in an active flight test program.
• Strong understanding of aircraft systems, flight test procedures, flight operations, air traffic management, and applicable civil and military requirements including FARs and MIL-STD.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensors, and telemetry equipment, plus strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret and/or Top Secret clearance and meet U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience with additional flight test programs, large UAVs, or fixed-wing aircraft.
• Knowledge of real-time telemetry and RTT analysis tools such as IADS, Netview, or Nominal.
• Basic programming skills in Python or MATLAB.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and presenting engineering data effectively.
