Location: Auckland, New Zealand. For New Zealand roles, nationality eligibility under U.S. ITAR regulations is required; applicants may be ineligible without citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO country.

What you will do
- Own projects involving mechanical payload-handling equipment for the Neutron launch vehicle.
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain project schedules.
- Implement mechanical and structural design changes using hand calculations and CAD.
- Supervise construction, verify assembly, and integrate systems on test rigs.
- Conduct hydraulic and mechanical testing, analyze test data, and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and project engineering teams.
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Knowledge of mechanics of materials, engineering design, fluid dynamics, and mechanics of machines.
- Experience with hand calculations, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and computer-aided design and manufacturing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
- Must meet the nationality and equipment/data access requirements applicable to the New Zealand role under U.S. ITAR regulations.
Nice to have
- Previous mechanical engineering or ground systems internship or project experience.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and testing.
- Knowledge of structural analysis.
- Experience with supplier management and project scheduling.
