Mechanical Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles, California, United States

Salary: $25–$33 per hour; final compensation depends on degree level.

What you will do

• Design structural components supporting hydraulic, fuel, propulsion, and avionics subsystems.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
• Lead mechanical, fluid, and avionics subsystem trade studies focused on mass, cost, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to create practical and producible designs.
• Own hardware development from concept through design, fabrication, integration, and testing.
• Present technical work in internal, cross-functional, supplier, and customer design reviews.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate, Master's, or Ph.D. student.
• Pursuing a degree in mechanical, aerospace, thermal fluids, structural, or a similar engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles and a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with enthusiasm for aviation and the company mission.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export-control rules or be eligible for deemed export licensing.
