Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure (AI)

Location: San Francisco; must be commutable to the San Francisco office and work in person 3–4 days per week.

Salary: $230,000–$280,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Compute, Data, and DevEx teams and define the infrastructure and data platform roadmap.
• Scale systems across multiple AWS regions toward an order of magnitude more traffic while targeting 99.95% uptime and controlling cloud spend.
• Build agentic production operations and an AI enablement layer that allows engineers to delegate routine operational work to agents.
• Establish reliability engineering practices, including SLI/SLO frameworks, incident response, and post-mortems.
• Standardize CI and self-service infrastructure-as-code tooling to improve developer experience.
• Own vendor strategy and infrastructure budgets, including enterprise contract negotiations and vendor migrations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including at least 4 years managing or leading engineering teams at a high-growth technology company.
• Experience managing managers or technical leads and scaling engineering teams while maintaining performance and culture standards.
• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and modern observability tooling.
• Ability to debug complex distributed systems and define technical direction with incomplete information.
• Experience applying AI to fundamentally change team operations, with a concrete system and measurable impact.
• Strong business acumen across cloud spend, developer velocity, reliability, and engineer development.
