Engineering Manager/Technical Lead - Application Platform (Java/AI/Cloud)

Location: United States - San Mateo, CA; hybrid work environment.

US base salary: $173,000–$259,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, education, training, and location.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineers delivering secure, scalable, and reliable application platform solutions for hirify.global’s cloud offerings.
• Drive adoption of AI, GenAI, and cloud capabilities across platform products and operations.
• Architect and launch platform enhancements while improving reliability, service compliance, and security.
• Manage projects involving advanced automation and transformative platform features.
• Champion operational excellence, proactive security practices, and measurable reliability and compliance outcomes.
• Coach engineers and support their professional growth through feedback and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Demonstrated Java mastery and strong object-oriented design skills.
• Experience architecting cloud applications, preferably cloud-native, on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or GenAI capabilities into production software or platforms.
• Experience leading engineering teams in cloud platform or enterprise software environments.
• Strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform security.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and operational leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with large-scale platform operations and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with the insurance or financial services industry.
