Manufacturing Engineer II, Testbeds & EGSE (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, 5 days per week. The role requires access to export-controlled information and applicants must meet applicable U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements.

Salary: $202,000–$223,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own procedures, work-instruction templates, documentation standards, and the release process for the Testbeds & EGSE team.
• Write and maintain assembly, checkout, and maintenance procedures for HITL testbeds and EGSE by shadowing engineering builds.
• Administer the internal knowledge base and maintain testbed block diagrams and system documentation as mission configurations evolve.
• Coordinate HITL maintenance communications, downtime announcements, and testbed availability updates.
• Work with technicians on the production floor to validate procedures and train the team on documentation standards.
• Identify process and buildability improvements and provide design-for-assembly feedback to design engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, or hardware engineering, with ownership of procedures, work instructions, or engineering documentation.
• Electrical engineering or embedded software experience, including the ability to read schematics, block diagrams, and software-driven test flows.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Hands-on experience with assemblies, harnesses, benches, and basic test equipment.
• Experience administering documentation, PLM, or knowledge-base tools.
• B.S. in engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with HITL, test labs, or production test environments.
• Experience creating documentation systems or templates from scratch.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Duro, or similar knowledge-base and PLM platforms.
• Python or similar scripting skills for documentation automation or diagram generation.
• Aerospace or other high-reliability industry experience and familiarity with Linux development environments.
