Strategic Data Scientist (Healthcare)

Location: USA, Ohio, Columbus; priority is given to candidates living in the Columbus metropolitan area

Base pay range: $108,800–$181,300 annually

What you will do

• Build relationships with customer success teams and external clients through data stories demonstrating product value.
• Analyze portfolio performance, customer needs, market events, business risks, and opportunities.
• Apply statistical methods and predictive modeling to identify drivers and forecast outcomes.
• Monitor portfolio health, provide stakeholder updates and business reviews, and escalate issues when needed.
• Present concise, client-facing visuals and actionable recommendations.
• Support complex client requests and contribute insights to competitive positioning, product design, analytics, and operations.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business, public health, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in an analytics role; healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation, factor analysis, regression, forecasting, and machine learning.
• Experience with statistical software such as Python, R, MATLAB, or SAS.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL proficiency and experience with data mining, analysis, queries, and reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with data visualization tools such as Excel or Tableau, plus strong communication and expectation-management skills.

• Expertise in insurance, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries.
