Senior Data Scientist (Healthcare)

Location: New York City office with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are required in-office days; the other two office days are flexible.

Salary: $163,944–$215,176.50 per year, plus benefits, equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain production data pipelines, statistical and ML models, and analytical systems for clinical risk adjustment.
• Automate manual actuarial and risk adjustment processes into validated, feature-rich production systems.
• Own projects end-to-end, from problem definition and technical design through implementation, validation, and post-launch iteration.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Risk Adjustment, data, and other business teams to translate workflows into technical solutions.
• Contribute to the team's long-term technical strategy and roadmap.
• Provide informal mentorship to junior data scientists.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in industry or another quantitative technical field, including academia.
• 3+ years of experience using SQL and Python to query, manipulate, and analyze data.
• 3+ years of experience building data models, applying advanced analytics methods, statistical modeling, and/or data processing.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining production data pipelines or systems.
• Experience with software engineering practices such as version control, code review, and testing.
• Ability to work from the New York City office 3 days per week, including Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field.
• Experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance.
• Experience with risk adjustment, actuarial processes, or health insurance financial modeling.
• Experience converting manual or spreadsheet-based analytical processes into automated production systems.
• Experience with BigQuery, dbt, Dataflow, and cloud platforms.
