Data Scientist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii

Salary: $166,000–$192,850 annual starting total cash, including base salary and equity; no bonus

What you will do

• Support the Trust and Safety team as the core technical data expert.
• Review healthcare billing patterns, evaluate claims, and identify data anomalies.
• Build proactive models, automated risk-monitoring pipelines, and compliance dashboards.
• Query and analyze large, complex datasets using advanced data logic.
• Translate technical discoveries into clear risk assessments for legal, compliance, and non-technical leadership partners.
• Investigate data discrepancies, gaps, and historical anomalies to strengthen data integrity and operational safeguards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, data science, or forensic data investigation.
• Expert proficiency in SQL and Python or R for querying large datasets and identifying systemic anomalies.
• Expertise with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Hex, or Mode.
• Strong data storytelling skills and experience communicating findings to non-technical leaders and legal partners.
• Deep understanding of data integrity auditing practices.
• Must be based in the United States; Hawaii is currently excluded.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare compliance, legal operations, or Trust and Safety, including fraud, waste, and abuse auditing.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and health insurance reimbursement pipelines.
• Experience with healthcare claims, billing records, or electronic health records.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
• Experience connecting analytics insights to corporate risk mitigation and platform guardrails.
