Senior Data Scientist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote; travel 1–20% within the US

What you will do

• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms, statistical models, predictive models, NLP solutions, and advanced analytic methods.
• Design complex, reusable data solutions for prediction, probabilistic data matching, outlier identification, and confidence scoring.
• Translate prototypes into products, services, and features with developers and architects, providing guidance for large-scale implementation.
• Explore complex and high-dimensional datasets, generate and test hypotheses, and interpret product experiment results.
• Gather requirements, assess implementation impacts across applications and data warehouses, and support build-versus-buy decisions.
• Share data science practices through presentations, demonstrations, mentoring, training, and research.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of applicable experience and a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is also listed as required experience.
• Experience designing and developing statistical methodologies, including regression, t-tests, z-tests, log modeling, Naïve Bayes, and Monte Carlo simulation using R or Python.
• Knowledge of healthcare data, including UB and 1500 claims, HL7, CDA, EHR data, and standard healthcare taxonomies.
• Advanced data analysis and querying skills across ETL and three-tier application contexts, with Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Netezza.
• Experience working with large patient datasets, data analytics and standardization, consulting, and conflict management.
• Ability to communicate effectively, make independent decisions, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate in a business environment.
