Remote Exercise Physiologist (Cardiac Rehabilitation)

Location: United States; fully remote. Schedule: 20–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8am–10pm ET and Saturday/Sunday 9am–3pm ET.

Compensation: $20–$30 per patient session; 30- and 60-minute sessions are available.

What you will do

• Assess cardiac rehabilitation patients’ fitness, medical history, lifestyle habits, and psychological wellbeing.
• Design and implement individualized exercise plans, monitor exercise tolerance, heart rate, blood pressure, adherence, and patient response.
• Lead individual and group exercise sessions for older adults and patients with cardiovascular conditions through telehealth.
• Provide behavioral coaching, motivation, emotional support, and guidance on overcoming barriers to program completion.
• Educate and counsel patients on cardiovascular health, nutrition, smoking cessation, stress reduction, medication adherence, and healthy lifestyle changes.
• Document patient assessments, progress, communication, goals, adherence, and program outcomes while coordinating with cardiologists, nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other clinical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health, exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field.
• ACSM or AACVPR certification is required: CCRP, EP-C, CEP, or RCEP.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting, preferably with cardiac patients.
• Experience leading group classes or working as a group fitness instructor.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular disease management, exercise prescription, behavior change techniques, and clear patient communication.
